Penelope - 2 year old Freckled Faced Bulldog/Boxer Mix - Penelope was found as a stray at Texas Star Golf Course. I think she was there because she loves people and likes to play fetch with a ball but sadly she had no human companions so was taken to the Euless Animal Shelter. Being the social outgoing girl that she is, she was understandably unhappy in the shelter so my family and I decided to foster her to check out her true potential!! And heres what weve learned: Penelope loves to play with our 2 dogs and at first she was too excited and played a little "ruff" - even doing somersaults and nipping at the other dogs in her unbridled excitement! There were a few skirmishes initially until she calmed down and now gets along great with her foster siblings. But we feel she would do best as your one and only furr baby as she can get a little too rough!! Even though she is thought to be about 2 years old, she still has puppy traits and needs some training on what's her's and what's yours! She has a boundless love of life and freedom and just wants to share it all with you! She is truly Little Miss Sunshine!! Penelope is light heartworm positive but we think that will be resolved after being on heartworm preventative for 6-12 months. If she is still positive after retesting, GAP will help raise money for her treatment! She certainly has no ill effects and just loves to play with her toys and tug of war with the other dogs. And she loves to play with the waterhose! She has a blast playing with the hose when I'm watering my plants! So what a perfect time of year to adopt this water-loving girl! She is great with our children but may be a bit hyper when its playtime and could possibly tump over a little one! But she's a sweetheart--calm most of the time but absolutely loves play time!
